Day 6 & 7th:
June 21st -22nd, 2024
Windham to Tillsonburg, On
It was Friday morning and time to leave Wilewood. Riding the trails that early in the mornings is a great idea. Itβs cool, quiet but the deer flies think itβs a great idea youβre riding the trails too. They would follow Dax and I in squadrons. Flying hard and fast to land and strike.. flying in formations around are bodies. It was painful to figure out that swatting at them made them bite harder. So grateful for the long sleeve t-shirt Jonah had given me to keep the sun off my burned arms. It worked double duty that morning and the next on our way into Tillsonburg from Windham, On

Stopped for the day to stay out of the heat in a quiet little cemetery outside of Windham. Lots of old trees to take shade under till the sun went down. Found a quiet little patch of grass to pitch our tent on for the night. There were solar lights in a little semi circle of graves that started to twinkle after dark. Very pretty. Woke up in the middle of the night to see the lights flying around about 12 feet off the ground over those graves.. my brain said, βoh ya, thatβs normalβ and put our head down and went back to sleep. in the morning, we were thinking about what we had seen and our brain said, βnaw, that wasnβt normal at all.β Haaa!!! π³ π± π»π
